AKRON HEADWORKS IMPROVEMENTS

Project Description

Challenge: The existing Akron Headworks facility was built in 1954 and was no longer able to operate at designed peak flow during wet weather events resulting in release of untreated water into freshwater sources. In order to achieve the desired 280 MGD (millions of gallons per day) it was determined that both the main outfall sewer and headworks facility should be replaced.

Solution: CCI provided Building Information Modeling (BIM) support services to multiple contractors on this project and provided coordination between the two BIM efforts being developed separately. CCI developed a video showing the entire site development as well.
